    Send it right the first time.

    No file is fine: a photo, a sketch or measurements all work. If you are sending a design, these are the formats to use and the pointers that help the part come out the way you pictured it.

    STEP (best, keeps exact sizes), STL, OBJ, 3MF

    Send STEP where you can: it holds true dimensions and stays editable. STL, OBJ and 3MF print well too.

      Model at 1:1 in millimetres

      Design at real-world size, in millimetres, at 1 to 1 scale. It takes the guesswork out of how big the finished part should be.

      Mind thin walls and small detail

      Very thin walls and tiny features can turn out fragile or drop away. If a detail matters, make it robust or flag it and we will advise.

      Leave clearance for fits

      Where two parts meet, allow a little clearance rather than modelling them dead flush. Send the mating dimensions and we confirm the fit.

      Name the material and orientation

      Tell us the intended material and, if it matters, which way the part should sit or which face is the show face.

    The printer holds 50-micron (0.05 mm) positional accuracy across the build, with closed-loop optical position sensing. That is the machine's positional-precision spec, not a guaranteed tolerance on your finished part: how tightly a part holds size also depends on the material, geometry and finish, so we confirm the real tolerance for your specific job rather than promise a single figure.     Common questions about files

    What file formats do you prefer for 3D printing?

    STEP is best because it keeps exact dimensions and can be edited. STL, OBJ and 3MF also print well. If you only have a sketch, a photo or measurements, that is enough to start.

    How should I set up a design so the part comes out right?

    Model in real-world millimetres at 1 to 1 scale, keep walls and small features from getting too thin so they do not turn out fragile or drop away, allow a little clearance where two parts have to fit together, and tell us the intended material and which way the part should sit.

    What if my design needs work before it can be made?

    Simple adjustments are part of the job. If a wall is too thin, a fit is too tight or a file needs cleaning up to run, we flag it and sort it with you. Larger design work is quoted separately so there are no surprises.
